WASHINGTON – Vanita Gupta, president and CEO of The Leadership Conference on Civil and Human Rights, issued the following statement on Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer’s rejection of any package confirmation of Trump’s judicial nominees before the end of the year:

“Our federal courts matter to every civil and human right, from access to health care to immigrant justice. Since he took office, Trump has tried to transform the courts in his image and has nominated too many unqualified, extreme, and unfair judicial nominees. And Senate Republicans have been all too willing to support this agenda. It is imperative that every senator give these lifetime appointments to the federal bench careful consideration. We applaud Leader Schumer for rejecting any rushed procedure for consideration of Trump’s judicial nominees.”
