Call Your Senators: Confirm Dawn Johnsen
Take Action Now:Call your senators at 202-224-3121 and urge their support of Dawn Johnsen as head of the Office of Legal Counsel (OLC) to ensure our government’s legal advisors are held to the highest level of integrity, from the top down.
The Office of Legal Counsel (OLC) serves as a legal advisor to the White House and federal agencies within the Department of Justice. The OLC advises on a number of issues that directly affect our civil and human rights, such as voting rights, criminal justice, religious discrimination and immigration. Given the importance of these issues to our communities and the impact the OLC can have, Dawn Johnsen is the most qualified candidate to lead the OLC and ensure a strong commitment to following the rule of law.
Dawn Johnsen served as deputy assistant attorney general at the OLC under the Clinton Administration, and also served as the acting head of the agency from 1997 to 1998. She knows what it takes to run the OLC, and through her work as a constitutional law professor she has proven her knowledge of the government's adherence to our constitutional rights. She will use her experience and knowledge to guide and advise our President and our federal agencies on integral decisions that impact our personal lives.
