The Hate Crimes Bill Passed in the House of Representatives

Thank Members of Congress
For Voting Against Hate

Take Action Now:

Call 202-224-3121 and thank members of Congress who voted to support the Local Law Enforcement Hate Crimes Prevention Act (LLEHCPA). Call members of Congress who did not vote or voted against the LLEHCPA and express your disappointment. See how your member of Congress voted.

On Wednesday, April 29, the House of Representatives passed the Local Law Enforcement Hate Crimes Prevention Act (H.R. 1913) with a bi-partisan vote of 249-175, supporting the expansion of coverage of existing hate crime laws and giving the federal government jurisdiction over prosecuting hate crimes in states where the current law is inadequate.

Thanks to your calls, the House of Representatives received a clear message that all people have the right to be safe and free from physical harm and intimidation. But our work is not done. The bill will now move on to the Senate, and we will need to come together as a collective voice once again to protect our communities from hate crimes.

See how your member of Congress voted. Then call 202-224-3121 and thank the members of Congress that voted for H.R. 1913 for supporting the right to safety and security for all people.
