Urge Your Representative to Pass the D.C. House Voting Rights Act

Call Your Member of Congress:
Give D.C. Residents a Voice in Congress

Take Action Now:

Call 202-224-3121 and urge your member of Congress to pass the District of Columbia House Voting Rights Act (H.R. 157) and provide D.C. residents a voice in the U.S. House of Representatives.

The House of Representatives are currently considering the District of Columbia House Voting Rights Act (H.R. 157). This bill would provide the nearly 600,000 residents of the District of Columbia with a full-voting member in the House of Representatives for the first time in more than 200 years.

Our nation was founded on the belief that every American should have a voice in governing this country. However, for the residents of the District of Columbia, this belief is not a reality. Washington, D.C., residents pay federal income taxes, serve on juries, and fight and die in our military to protect our nation. Yet they do not have full-voting representation in the U.S. Congress.

The Senate has already acted by passing the District of Columbia House Voting Rights Act (S. 160). The House of Representatives should pass H.R. 157 and give D.C. residents the fundamental civil right of voting representation.

Call 202-224-3121 and urge your representative to pass the District of Columbia House Voting Rights Act (H.R. 157)  and provide D.C. residents a full-voting member in the House of Representatives.
