Civil and Human Rights Coalition Urges Thorough Review of Secretary of Labor Nominee Alexander Acosta

WASHINGTON—Wade Henderson, president and CEO of The Leadership Conference on Civil and Human Rights, issued the following statement following today’s nomination of Alexander Acosta as Secretary of Labor:

“Following the failed nomination of Andrew Puzder, it is incumbent upon the Senate to conduct a thorough review of Alexander Acosta’s record.  Our next Secretary of Labor must fully respect our laws designed to protect American workers.

The Secretary of Labor has enormous responsibilities that impact the American workforce and their families.  The American people deserve someone who will look out for their interests, and not just for the interest of corporations.”
