Data Analyst Consultant, Census Counts Campaign
Background: The Leadership Conference Education Fund is a 501(c)(3) organization that works to build public will for federal policies that promote and protect the civil and human rights of all persons in the United States. It was founded in 1969 as the education and research arm of The Leadership Conference on Civil and Human Rights, the nation’s premier civil and human rights coalition of more than 200 national organizations that work together to advance civil and human rights policies and legislation. The Census Counts campaign is a collaborative campaign involving national organizations and dozens of community partners in more than 45 states working together to make sure that the 2020 Census is fair and accurate—so that our communities do not miss out on the political power they deserve and the resources their communities have earned. This campaign is run by The Leadership Conference Education Fund in collaboration with other key partners. More information about the campaign can be found at CensusCounts.org.
Introduction: The Leadership Conference Education Fund’s Census Counts Campaign is looking for a Data Analyst Consultant to work with the campaign to develop analyses of data for use in research, targeting, and census outreach strategy. The consultant will support the census field program in augmenting and syncing data relevant to the work as well as recommending the development of dashboards and metrics for monitoring census participation activities for state partners and national efforts.
The Data Analyst Consultant will be working closely with The Leadership Conference Education Fund’s field and campaign and program departments as well as other outside consultants. The ideal candidate will have foundational experience in migrating and analyzing large data sets and thrive in a demanding, deadline-driven work environment.
The consultant will be an important part of the Census Counts campaign field team.
Skills and Qualifications:
This contract requires:
- A minimum of two years of data analysis – including a demonstrated record of programs and systems management
- Has at least two years’ in-depth experience working with E-campaigning tools like NGP/VAN, ActionKit, Engaging Networks or with large nonprofit databases.
- A solid commitment to advancing civil and human rights
- Proven experience as a consultant or independent contractor
- Experience using R, Git, and Github
- Ability to think strategically and creatively about deploying the full suite of data tools to advance the mission of a nonprofit
- Ability to work with diverse groups of people
- A collaborative, dependable self-starter with a record of producing high-quality work
- Bachelor’s degree
This is a term limited position with a competitive rate from hire through August.
