New Video Shows Chilling Threat of Trump Supreme Court Takeover

WASHINGTON – The Leadership Conference on Civil and Human Rights today released a video, “Stop Trump’s Supreme Court Takeover,” illustrating the real and immediate threat of politicizing the non-partisan, impartial branch of federal government by confirming Brett Kavanaugh. The video features president and CEO Vanita Gupta urging people to call their senators to halt his nomination.

“This is the fight for the soul of our nation,” Gupta says in the video. “It’s why people who never considered themselves activists right now are rallying and mobilizing and calling their senators.”

And now, in the wake of sexual assault allegations against Kavanaugh, it is even more imperative that the Senate takes its responsibility to thoroughly evaluate nominees seriously. Kavanaugh is being considered for a lifetime position – it cannot be undone. Senators must stop Trump’s Supreme Court takeover now and reject Kavanaugh’s nomination.
