#TodayItsCake: New Video Emphasizes Importance of Masterpiece Cakeshop Decision for All

WASHINGTON – Following the recent Masterpiece Cakeshop Supreme Court decision, The Leadership Conference Education Fund launched a video on the decision’s importance in the fight for civil rights protections for all.

“With the recent Supreme Court vacancy, now more than ever our civil and human rights are at stake,” said Vanita Gupta, president and CEO of The Leadership Conference Education Fund. “The Masterpiece Cakeshop decision, though decided on narrow grounds, makes clear that our fight for equal rights and dignity must continue. Comprehensive nondiscrimination laws are still not nationwide, and the Court will likely hear this issue again. Our video emphasizes the importance of the decision and the work ahead to protect our rights.”

The video is accompanied by shareable graphics to spread the word and resources from Open To All, a coalition committed to keeping businesses open to people of all identities. The Leadership Conference Education Fund is a member of this coalition.
