WASHINGTON – The Leadership Conference Education Fund has announced the hire of Kiren Marshall as national communications strategist for the voting rights program.

“We are excited to welcome Kiren to our team,” said Leigh Chapman, voting rights program director at The Education Fund. “Her deep background in communications, public engagement, and legal issues will be an important asset as we continue to educate the public about barriers to the ballot and how communities can empower themselves to ensure their right to vote is not diminished. Recent primary elections clearly show that more work needs to be done, and we are fortunate to have Kiren join us.”

Kiren Marshall, the national communications strategist for the voting rights program, has more than 15 years of experience in the legal field, and most recently worked at the American Association for Justice. Marshall has previously worked in the Clerk’s Office of the U.S. Supreme Court and the American Bar Association’s Government and Public Sector Lawyers Division. During her tenure as a writer with the ABA, she worked on community policing and criminal justice reform. Marshall received her bachelor’s degree from Emory University and master’s degree from George Mason University in U.S. History. During her master’s program, she worked with the National Park Service, Heritage Education Services, to create reports and lesson plans for sites that focus on Asian-American and Pacific Islander history and heritage.
