The Leadership Conference Education Fund builds public will for laws and policies that promote and protect the civil and human rights of every person in the United States. The issues we work on — from voting rights to educational equity to justice reform — have deep roots in our organizational history and across the communities we represent.
Our mission is simple: Build an America as good as its ideals.
The Education Fund was founded in 1969 as the education and research arm of The Leadership Conference on Civil and Human Rights, the nation’s oldest and largest civil and human rights coalition of more than 200 national organizations. Because of our unique proximity to a leading coalition, we are able to create public education campaigns that leverage a range of diverse voices to empower and mobilize advocates at the local, state, and federal levels.
For more than five decades, we have served as a force multiplier and amplified the call for a just, inclusive, and fair democracy.
At The Education Fund, we believe an informed public is not only necessary to achieve civil and human rights, but also to make sure those rights endure. By activating the power of the coalition, The Education Fund and our partners can share innovative research and information around the country — and ultimately, shift the narrative on civil and human rights.
