About the Role:

We are seeking a Manager, Creative Graphic to join our Communications Department. The ideal candidate will have experience creating various forms of visual communication, and video content, for multiple on and offline channels. We seek an exceptional, driven, and innovative creative mind to support the broad range of graphic design and creative communication products of the organizations. This position will report to the Sr. Director, Digital, Social, & Creative. This position is part of the collective bargaining unit.

What you will do:

  • Act as the creative lead for graphic and digital design support for the organization in order to build on an offline connection between the Organization’s messaging and diverse audiences
  • Manage organizational branding and usage across The Leadership Conference with internal and consultant teams
  • Strong conceptual and creative thinker with the ability to generate ideas across a range of activations, including broadcast TV/connected TV, digital touchpoints, print/OOH, influencer marketing, web, blog, and social media
  • Develop graphic content for The Leadership Conference’s social as well as other digital content and video, experiences (e.g. reports, email, on and offline ads)
  • Brainstorm collaboratively with both Communications colleagues and issue-based departments that request creative support
  • Provide strategic oversight on content strategy, design, creative and execution alongside our program area and communication team leads
  • Produce deliverables such as static short and long term videos for social and web -based campaigns, graphics, GIFs, web page assets, ads, event materials, logos and long form editorial design
  • Lead in ideation, creative research, image searches, image organization, copyright and license management; as well as maintaining stock image accounts and managing collections
  • Take initiative to suggest improvements or innovations of broadly accepted tasks, methods, or processes
  • Manages and populates a creative tracker and calendar with the department on Monday.com

What you will bring: 

  • Passion for civil and human rights, storytelling through design, and engaging diverse and multi-generational audiences
  • A minimum of 5 years of creative and design experience is required, and in nonprofits is preferred
  • A Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field of study AND/OR demonstrable experience working in the design field
  • A strong understanding and passion for storytelling across content creation and design
  • Ability to adapt to changes in work assignments, deadlines, team, and work environment.
  • Strong knowledge of existing and emerging marketing, digital, and design technologies as well as digital analytics
  • Proficiency and understanding of key elements in design, illustration, typography, photography, color theory, animation, video content, influencer marketing, visual merchandising (e-store) and buzz generation.
  • Broad understanding of website development and UX/UI design, including WCAG and ADA requirements
  • Ability to utilize technology such as:
    • Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, InDesign, and Photoshop) and Figma
    • Google Slides/Google Drive
    • Canva
    • Keynote, PowerPoint
    • Basic HTML and email design
    • Basic video production skills (animation and/or iMovie a plus)
    • Microsoft applications
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, and effective interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work in a remote environment, utilizing collaborative tools such as Google Drive, Microsoft Teams, Zoom, Slack, and more
  • Portfolio with relevant work experience and examples required

Salary Range – $90,249 – $94,817, dependent on years of related experience.

Currently, staff has the option to work from the office or home while we determine our long-term policy on remote and hybrid work. Please note this position is not permanently remote and over time the person filling this role may be required to work on occasion or regularly from the Washington, DC-based office.
