Eunic Epstein-Ortiz is a nationally recognized communications advisor and activist dedicating her career to social justice fights for over 15 years. Her work has brought her to New York City, Washington, D.C., Florida, and every battleground state from Nevada to Pennsylvania.
Growing up in a household of educators in a “right-to-work” state, Eunic saw first hand her parents work to fight for union representation at their colleges. For nearly a decade of her career, Eunic worked with the Service Employees International Union (SEIU) and its locals as a high-level communications strategist fighting for some of our most marginalized communities.
Eunic led a communications campaign in support of the fight for the expansion of the Affordable Care Act in states across the each coast, expanding health care coverage for low-income adults. After the 2016 elections, she made the decision to move back to her home state of Florida to fight for workers’ rights in the sunshine state with SEIU. During the 2018 midterms, Eunic led the communications team on a campaign to help support the passage of Amendment 4 which restored the right to vote for returning citizens.
As the National Political Communications Director of SEIU, she oversaw electoral and political communications for the organization across sixteen key states — specifically talking to millions of infrequent voters in Black, Latino, and API communities. In 2020, she led a campaign that successfully passed Amendment 2 in Florida to increase the minimum wage to $15 an hour. In 2022, she ran for Florida State Senate.
Eunic has been at the center of the fight for LGBTQ+ civil rights for her entire career, working with activists from across New York City and the country to move pro-equality legislation.
