Dear Senator,

On behalf of The Leadership Conference on Civil and Human Rights, a coalition of more than 240 national organizations committed to promoting and protecting the civil and human rights of all persons in the United States, we write to express strong opposition to the nomination of Robert F. Kennedy, Jr. to serve as the next secretary of the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS). The Leadership Conference intends to include your vote on the confirmation of Mr. Kennedy in our voting record for the 119th Congress.

Mr. Kennedy’s record demonstrates that his vision for health care in America is one where scientific evidence is disregarded, critical public health institutions and programs are dismantled, and disinformation is spread to create confusion and mistrust. In the wake of his dangerous and misleading statements around vaccines, abortion, Medicaid, and public health, senators must protect the health of our communities and oppose Mr. Kennedy’s nomination.
