On February 16, 2016, The Leadership Conference filed a brief to express agreement with the government’s position and “to highlight an important lesson of history: As our society has moved toward greater equality for racial minorities and women, it has increasingly and properly rejected the idea that religion can be used as a justification for discrimination in the marketplace.
