WASHINGTON – Vanita Gupta, president and CEO of The Leadership Conference on Civil and Human Rights, issued the following statement after Dr. Christine Blasey Ford’s sworn testimony before the Senate Judiciary Committee hearing on her sexual assault allegations against Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh:

“We thank Dr. Christine Blasey Ford for her courage in testifying at today’s hearing. Her sworn testimony further strengthens the credibility of her sexual assault allegations against Brett Kavanaugh. Her testimony underscores the absolute necessity for an FBI investigation into all sexual assault allegations against Kavanaugh. Unless and until that investigation happens, senators must immediately halt this nomination process.”
