WASHINGTON – Vanita Gupta, president and CEO of The Leadership Conference on Civil and Human Rights, issued the following statement on the advancement of the nominations of Daniel Collins and Kenneth Lee to the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit:

“Senate Republicans continue to conspire with President Trump to stack our federal courts with anti-civil rights judges at any cost. Collins’ and Lee’s records are so extreme that Republicans must rush their confirmations to hide the damage their judgeships will cause to our most vulnerable communities. Women, sexual assault survivors, and people of color cannot have a fair day in court when the Senate confirms judges who have clearly shown they will not protect their rights.

“All senators must reject their nominations to protect the integrity of our courts – and most importantly, to protect civil and human rights for all.”
