BE HEARD Act Brings Accountability for Workplace Discrimination

WASHINGTON – Vanita Gupta, president and CEO of The Leadership Conference on Civil and Human Rights, issued the following statement on the introduction of the Bringing an End to Harassment by Enhancing Accountability and Rejecting Discrimination (BE HEARD) in the Workplace Act:    

“People are fed up with harassment and discrimination being business as usual at work. It is time for laws and policies that prevent and remedy these all too common violations of working people’s civil rights. The Be HEARD Act will do just that. The Leadership Conference coalition will continue working with our members and elected leaders to pass this bill and ensure a future where all working people are treated fairly and with respect.”
