Press Call Briefing Monday: New Report Details Civil Rights Implications of Changes to 2020 Census

WASHINGTON – On Monday, November 24 at 11:00 a.m. EST, leading civil rights organizations will host a telephonic press briefing on the new report, “Race and Ethnicity in the 2020 Census: Improving Data to Capture a Multiethnic America.”

While the 2020 Census may seem distant, the U.S. Census Bureau must make final decisions about the design, methodology, and content of the next decennial count within the next few years.

Representatives from the Latino, Asian American and Arab American communities will discuss their concerns leading up to the 2020 census, and in particular, the significant consequences that proposed changes to the 2020 census race and ethnicity questions could have on civil rights work critical to their communities.
