Press Call Wednesday at 11 AM: Civil Rights Advocates Call on Senate to Either Fix or Oppose Education Bill

Media 07.14,15

WASHINGTON – On Wednesday, July 15 at 11:00 AM ET, civil rights advocates and senators (pending availability) will call on the Senate to either fix or oppose the education bill, the Every Child Achieves Act (ECAA). The Senate is expected to vote on final passage of the ECAA later in the day.

A coalition of civil rights, disability rights, and education advocacy organizations has come together to ensure that the reauthorization of the Elementary and Secondary Education Act honors the law’s rich civil rights legacy. The current Senate iteration of this act is the ECAA which, in its current form, betrays this legacy.
