Press Call Wednesday: Voting Rights Groups Gear Up for Presidential Election

Media 10.25,16

WASHINGTON – On Wednesday, October 26 at 10:30 a.m. ET, voting rights advocates will host a telephonic media briefing to share their concerns for the upcoming election and plans to monitor the polls on Election Day.

Threats of intimidation at the polls have compounded the groups’ concerns of voting discrimination in advance of the first presidential election in 50 years with a weakened Voting Rights Act.

The groups will also release a joint letter urging all state election officials to develop plans to prevent disenfranchisement in the election.
