Civil and Human Rights Coalition Welcomes Departure of Sebastian Gorka

WASHINGTON – Vanita Gupta, president and CEO of The Leadership Conference on Civil and Human Rights, released the following statement after Sebastian Gorka departed from the White House:

“Sebastian Gorka’s departure is long overdue and welcome, but he should not have been working in the White House in the first place. No one who supports white supremacy and Neo-Nazi ideas should be serving in this or any administration. Attacking patriotic transgender individuals serving in our military and pardoning Joe Arpaio on the same day as this announcement, however, makes it clear the problem is not Bannon or Gorka but the president himself.”

The Leadership Conference on Civil and Human Rights is a coalition charged by its diverse membership of more than 200 national organizations to promote and protect the rights of all persons in the United States. The Leadership Conference works toward an America as good as its ideals. For more information on The Leadership Conference and its 200-plus member organizations, visit www.civilrights.org.
