Trump Proposals Are a Double Dose of Bad Policy

Civil and Human Rights Coalition Pans Trump Budget and Infrastructure Plans

WASHINGTON – Vanita Gupta, president and CEO of The Leadership Conference on Civil and Human Rights, responded to President Trump’s Fiscal Year 2019 Budget proposal and infrastructure principles, both of which the administration unveiled today:

“Trump’s budget and infrastructure proposals are a double dose of bad policy. His budget would deny critical health care to those most in need simply to bankroll his wall through border communities, while his infrastructure scam would reward the rich and special interests at the expense of low-income communities and communities of color. Both would leave behind too many American communities and those most in need. Congress should ignore these unacceptable proposals and craft legislation that serves the people.”

The Leadership Conference on Civil and Human Rights is a coalition charged by its diverse membership of more than 200 national organizations to promote and protect the rights of all persons in the United States.
