Kavanaugh is Unfit to Serve: All Senators Must Vote No

WASHINGTON – Vanita Gupta, president and CEO of The Leadership Conference on Civil and Human Rights, issued this statement following the 51-49 vote to advance Brett Kavanaugh’s Supreme Court nomination for a final vote by the Senate:

“Senate Majority Leader McConnell continues to do everything in his power to rush this Supreme Court nomination, despite an incomplete FBI investigation into multiple sexual assault allegations against Kavanaugh and his repeated lies under oath. Time and again, Kavanaugh has shown he does not have the temperament or truthfulness to serve on the nation’s highest court. Today, the Senate voted to advance his nomination, although there was bipartisan opposition. And now all that is left is the final vote and it is up to all 100 senators to do the right thing and oppose this partisan and unfit nominee. Our civil and human rights depend on this vote. The people of this country are watching.”
