WASHINGTON – Kristine Lucius, executive vice president for policy and government affairs at The Leadership Conference on Civil and Human Rights, issued the following statement on the Senate’s vote to advance the nomination of Michael Park to the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit:

“Park’s confirmation threatens decades of civil and human rights progress – and the millions in this country who depend upon those civil and human rights protections. His record of attacking equal opportunity admissions policies, limiting health care access, and undermining the accuracy of the 2020 Census by supporting the unnecessary citizenship question should disqualify him from filling a lifetime judgeship. Senators must end their campaign to cram our courts with biased judges and protect the rights of our most vulnerable communities.”
