WASHINGTON – Kristine Lucius, executive vice president for policy and government affairs at The Leadership Conference on Civil and Human Rights, issued the following statement on the Senate’s vote to advance the nomination of Kenneth Lee to the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit:

“Donald Trump is hellbent on transforming the courts with narrow-minded judges to rubber stamp his agenda. Lee hid dozens of offensive articles he wrote criticizing everything from equal opportunity policies to voting rights. Now, Mitch McConnell is rushing his confirmation over the objections of Senators Harris and Feinstein. Senators should protect our courts by rejecting his nomination.”
