WASHINGTON – Vanita Gupta, president and CEO of The Leadership Conference on Civil and Human Rights, issued the following statement on the NO BAN Act:

“We applaud the House’s decision to bring the NO BAN Act to a vote next week and urge all members to support its passage. No family deserves to be separated because of Trump and Stephen Miller’s xenophobia and anti-Muslim bigotry. Congress must put an end to this administration’s sweeping, discriminatory, and overly-broad anti-immigrant policy.”

The Leadership Conference’s letter to the House on H.R. 2214, the National Origin-Based Antidiscrimination for Nonimmigrants Act (the “NO BAN Act”), is available here.
