Faith Leaders to Join Turn Up Tuesdays to Commemorate the Voting Rights Act and Call for Safer Elections

WASHINGTON –  The Leadership Conference on Civil and Human Rights and All Voting is Local, with its joint And Still I Vote℠ campaign, will hold a series of events with faith leaders to mobilize voters across the country and urge officials to safeguard voting by mail and protect in-person voting options. This is a part of Turn Up Tuesdays, a weekly, national call to action to ensure people are informed and activated to vote in the general election.

Turn Up Tuesdays is dedicated to ensuring that upcoming elections do not encounter the disarray that voters experienced in states like Wisconsin and Georgia. Faith leaders will urge election officials to guarantee voters have access to safe and fair voting options for the 2020 elections. They will also discuss the importance of the Voting Rights Act.

Tuesday, Aug. 4

Activating Your Faith: Ensuring Fair Access to the Ballot in Ohio Facebook Live – An interactive conversation between the 2020 Nonpartisan Ohio Voter Outreach Committee (NOVOC) faith leaders and All Voting Is Local about voting in Ohio. The conversation will cover the importance of participating in the election process and provide resources for faith leaders to engage their congregants.
