WASHINGTONWade Henderson, interim president and CEO of The Leadership Conference on Civil and Human Rights, released the below statement following the Senate’s vote to advance the nomination of Veronica Rossman to the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Tenth Circuit:

“Veronica Rossman is an exceptionally well-qualified and fair-minded nominee. She has dedicated her legal career to representing people involved in the criminal-legal system and ensuring their rights are protected. When confirmed, Rossman will be the only judge on the Tenth Circuit who has been a public defender. The kind of professional experience she will bring to the bench is much needed to help improve judicial decision-making and ensure more equal justice. We urge the Senate to swiftly confirm her nomination.”
