WASHINGTONWade Henderson, interim president and CEO of The Leadership Conference on Civil and Human Rights, released the following statement after the Senate Judiciary Committee hearing on the nominations of Dale Ho to the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York, Sarah Geraghty to the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Georgia, and Victoria Calvert to the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Georgia:

“The nominees we heard from today exemplify the types of judges we need in our courts — eminently qualified, fair-minded, and diverse individuals with a deep commitment to protecting civil and human rights. We are especially excited to see lawyers like Dale Ho, Sarah Geraghty, and Victoria Calvert who have dedicated their practice to equal justice. The desperate attacks on Dale Ho are just that — desperate. These exceptional nominees possess the depth and breadth of experiences our federal courts need to move us closer to the promise of delivering equal justice for all. The Senate must quickly confirm these eminently qualified nominees.”
