WASHINGTON – Lena Zwarensteyn, senior director, fair courts program, The Leadership Conference on Civil and Human Rights, released the following statement after the Senate’s vote to confirm Judge Stephanie Davis to the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Sixth Circuit:
“The Sixth Circuit will be well served by Judge Davis, who has a record of being a fair-minded judge with a strong commitment to equal justice. Notably, Judge Davis will be the first Black woman from Michigan to serve on the Sixth Circuit. Today’s vote is an important step towards an equal justice judiciary that reflects the rich diversity of our nation.”
