Rachel Bloomekatz’s Experience Will Be an Asset to the Sixth Circuit

WASHINGTON Lena Zwarensteyn, senior director of the fair courts program at The Leadership Conference on Civil and Human Rights, released the following statement after the Senate confirmed Rachel Bloomekatz to the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Sixth Circuit:

“Throughout her outstanding career, Rachel Bloomekatz has demonstrated a commitment to protecting and advancing civil rights for all people. She will be a tremendous jurist, and her experience is greatly needed on the Sixth Circuit. She comes to the bench with extensive legal experience, including safeguarding our freedom to vote, defending the constitutional rights of children involved in the criminal-legal system, and protecting consumers. The Senate’s confirmation of Bloomekatz today is an important step in moving our judiciary closer to upholding equal justice for all.”
