#AgainstHate: New Website Remembers Charlottesville, Demands Action

WASHINGTON – Ahead of the one-year anniversary of the Charlottesville tragedy, The Leadership Conference on Civil and Human Rights launched a website with key resources and specific actions to fight hate.

“Now more than ever, we must fight white supremacy and hate in all its forms,” said Vanita Gupta, president and CEO of The Leadership Conference. “On the Charlottesville anniversary, we must reinforce our resolve as a nation to defend civil and human rights for all.”

The site outlines 5 Actions to Stop White Supremacy and Defend Civil and Human Rights, which include: demanding President Trump fire Stephen Miller; strengthening data collection of hate crimes and incidents; sharing stories through the Communities Against Hate Initiative; voting for elected officials who honor civil and human rights; and urging the removal of Confederate monuments. The site also features the #ResilientCville social media campaign, encouraging people to join us in flooding the airways with their own positive messages in support of the greater Charlottesville community.
