WASHINGTON — The Leadership Conference on Civil and Human Rights and its sister organization, The Leadership Conference Education Fund, announced today that Jesselyn McCurdy is joining the organizations as managing director of government affairs.

WASHINGTON – As the nation celebrates the start of LGBTQ Pride Month, 60 national civil and human rights organizations today declared their support for transgender students and decried discriminatory state proposals that would harm both cisgender and transgender girls and women. Formally established in 1905, Greenwood was a bustling downtown district created by and for African Americans, where dozens of businesses and churches thrived, despite the rampant racism and Jim Crow laws that attempted to restrict Black progress in the years following Emancipation.
