The Leadership Conference Filed an Amicus Brief in Deleon, et al. v. Perry, et al.

On September 15, 2014, The Leadership Conference filed a brief in support of Plaintiff-Appellees, urging the Court to follow the Supreme Court’s controlling framework and adopt a heightened scrutiny standard for laws that discriminate on the basis of sexual orientation. We argued that Lawrence v. Texas abrogated case law that rejected a heighted scrutiny standard for sexual orientation classifications.
