The Leadership Conference Joins an Amicus Brief in Massachusetts v. U.S. Department of Health and Human Services
On September 24, 2018 The Leadership Conference joined in an amicus brief in Massachusetts v. U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, arguing that the historical movement toward greater equality for women and racial minorities has been accompanied by a growing rejection of religious justifications for discrimination in the marketplace and that the court should not allow appellants to resurrect the discredited notion that religious beliefs may trump a law designed to ensure equal participation in society.
