Tuesday Press Conference at Nat’l Press Club: Civil Rights Leaders to Condemn Contempt Vote on Attorney General
WASHINGTON, DC – On Tuesday, June 26th, at Noon EST, civil rights leaders representing diverse communities will hold a press conference to denounce the expected vote this week in the U.S. House on holding Attorney General Eric Holder in contempt of Congress.
This politically motivated attack on Holder is intended to have a chilling effect on the Department of Justice’s vigorous enforcement of the right to vote, protection of homeowners from predatory lending, and defense of the federal government from state overreach on immigration laws.
