WASHINGTON Ashley Allison, executive vice president of campaigns and programs at The Leadership Conference on Civil and Human Rights, issued the following statement in response to Israeli President Netanyahu’s decision to ban Representatives Ilhan Omar and Rashida Tlaib from Israel following President Trump’s tweet:

“Words of hate beget acts of hate. As if spewing hateful rhetoric domestically were not enough, Trump is exporting bigotry to extend his campaign of hate against Representatives Omar and Tlaib. His pervasive attacks on the Muslim congresswomen of color, even in the face of vocal opposition from his allies, show his white supremacist agenda knows no limits. This country – and this world – deserve better.”

The Leadership Conference on Civil and Human Rights is a coalition charged by its diverse membership of more than 200 national organizations to promote and protect the rights of all persons in the United States.
