WASHINGTON Wade Henderson, interim president and CEO of The Leadership Conference on Civil and Human Rights, released the following statement on the Senate’s vote to confirm Jennifer Sung to the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit:

“Jennifer Sung has demonstrated a steadfast commitment to protecting the rights of working people throughout her impressive career as a lawyer and as an even-handed arbiter. The federal judiciary needs more judges like Sung, whose legal experiences are rooted in protecting and defending the rights of working people. Notably, she will be the first AAPI judge from Oregon to serve on the Ninth Circuit. Sung’s exceptional career and her background bring much-needed perspectives to the bench, and will strengthen our federal courts.”
