WASHINGTONWade Henderson, interim president and CEO of The Leadership Conference on Civil and Human Rights, released the following statement on the Senate’s vote to confirm the nomination of Judge Alison Nathan to the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit:

“Judge Alison Nathan is a fair-minded jurist committed to equal justice and is an excellent addition to the Second Circuit. Judge Nathan has a demonstrated commitment to ensuring the rights of all people are recognized, from voting rights to immigration to education. She also brings important lived experience that will be an asset to the bench, as she will be just the second openly LGBTQ woman to serve on any federal appellate court.
