About the Media/Tech Legal Internship:

The Leadership Conference on Civil and Human Rights and The Leadership Conference Education Fund offer a substantive, fast-paced remote Media/Tech legal internship designed to give law students seniors real-world work experience in the civil and human rights policy arena. The internship provides the intern with the chance to, under the supervision of the organizations’ staff, increase their knowledge and awareness of issues at the intersection of technology and civil and human rights, enhance their understanding of working in coalition, and observe the legislative process of our federal government.

This internship is unpaid, and the intern is eligible to receive school credit from an accredited law school. This internship, which is fully remote, will last at least nine weeks and up to twelve weeks.

What you will do:

  • Track legislation on media/tech issues
  • Conduct legal and legislative research
  • Draft testimony, advocacy letters, and other documents
  • Attend coalition and task force meetings
  • Attend congressional hearings and briefings
  • Attend meetings with the executive branch and administrative agencies

Internship Schedule:

This internship will last at least nine weeks and up to twelve weeks. We require a minimum 20 hour per week and a maximum 40 hour per week commitment.
