The Leadership Conference joins an Amicus Brief in Jackson v. Hobbs Miller v. Alabama
On January 17, 2012, The Leadership Conference joined the NAACP Legal Defense and Education Fund in filing a brief alleging that “race critically and inappropriately influences the assessment of blameworthiness in the context of juvenile life without parole sentencing.” Additionally, the brief alleged that “youth are less culpable than adults and, therefore, less deserving of life without parole sentences.”
