WASHINGTON – The Leadership Conference on Civil and Human Rights released its scores for every member of the first session of the 117th United States Congress. The Voting Record, which has been issued for every Congress since 1969, reflects the votes taken by every senator and representative on the legislative priorities of The Leadership Conference. The Leadership Conference’s Voting Record is neither an endorsement nor condemnation of any member of Congress.

WASHINGTON — Leading civil rights organizations released the following joint statement urging Congress to remain focused on federal voting rights protections and the core issue of racial discrimination addressed in the John Lewis Voting Rights Advancement Act and the Freedom to Vote Act, as the Electoral Count Act is grossly insufficient:

WASHINGTON, D.C., January 27, 2022 – National Women’s Law Center, National Coalition on Black Civic Participation/Black Women’s Roundtable, The Leadership Conference on Civil and Human Rights, Alliance for Justice, and People For the American Way will hold a joint press call today about Justice Stephen Breyer’s announcement of his impending retirement. President Biden has promised to nominate the nation’s first-ever Black woman to the Supreme Court, and he has promised that this nominee will have a demonstrated commitment to civil and human rights, and equal justice under the law. Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer has also indicated that he is planning to move the nominee quickly through the Senate confirmation process.
