In NY Daily News Opinion, Wiley Urges Senate to Prioritize Judicial Confirmations to Protect Our Rights

WASHINGTON – In an opinion piece published in the New York Daily News, Maya Wiley, president and CEO of The Leadership Conference on Civil and Human Rights, expressed that what we have learned from the chaos the Supreme Court created by overturning the fundamental right to abortion and upending a half century of recognized rights is: it matters who presidents nominate and who the Senate confirms to sit on our courts. Creating a path forward requires judges who will advance equal justice for all people, and Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer must continue judicial confirmations with great urgency.
